Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. Known for her autobiographical songwriting, artistic reinventions, and cultural impact, Swift is a leading figure in popular music and the subject of extensive media coverage, with a vast fanbase known as Swifties.

Swift signed to Big Machine Records in 2005, debuting as a country singer with the albums Taylor Swift (2006) and Fearless (2008). The singles "Teardrops on My Guitar", "Love Story", and "You Belong with Me" found crossover success on country and pop radio formats. She incorporated rock on Speak Now (2010) and electronic on Red (2012), later re-calibrating her image from country to pop with the synth-pop set 1989 (2014); the ensuing media scrutiny inspired the hip-hop-imbued Reputation (2017). The albums contained the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", "Bad Blood" and "Look What You Made Me Do".

Shifting to Republic Records in 2018, Swift released the electropop album Lover (2019) and explored indie folk styles in the 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore. She experimented with subdued pop genres on Midnights (2022) and The Tortured Poets Department (2024), and began re-recording her Big Machine albums as Taylor's Version due to an ownership dispute with the label. Through the 2020s, she garnered the US number one songs "Cardigan", "Willow", "All Too Well", "Anti-Hero", "Cruel Summer", "Is It Over Now?", and "Fortnight". She has undertaken six concert tours, including the Eras Tour (2023–2024), the highest-grossing tour of all time. Her films include Miss Americana (2020), All Too Well: The Short Film (2021), and The Eras Tour (2023)—the highest-grossing concert film.

    Lyrics[]

    [Verse 1]
    Midnight
You come and pick me up, no headlights
    Long drive
Could end in burning flames or paradise
    Fade into view, oh
It's been a while since I have even heard from you (Heard from you)
I should just tell you to leave
'Cause I know exactly where it leads
But I watch it go 'round and 'round each time

    [Chorus]
You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye
And I got that red lip, classic thing that you like
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style
You got that long hair, slicked back, white tee shirt
And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time
'Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style

    [Verse 2]
    So it goes
He can't keep his wild eyes on the road
Takes me home, lights are off he's taking off his coat (Hmm, ye

Taylor Swift's Red Carpet Style Evolution

Taylor Swift is more than a music sensation. Through the years, the hitmaker has cemented herself as a total style icon. When the Pennsylvania native first emerged onto the scene in 2006 — at only 16 years old — her wardrobe consisted of ruffled sundresses and rustic cowboy boots. She'd often accessorize with jeweled headbands and wore her signature blonde tresses in tight curls. However, as she matured, so did her style. In the years that followed, Swift ditched frilly frocks for ones that featured sparkles, cutouts and much shorter hems. She also traded in her Western shoes for over-the-knee boots, strappy sandals, glossy pumps and began rocking a bold red lip. Her most breathtaking bejeweled look is perhaps the sultry Oscar de la Renta ensemble she wore at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. The dress, which appeared to take inspiration from the flapper era, featured a sheer slip that was covered in layers of crystals that perfectly draped the Grammy winner's body. The look was as racy as ever as it exposed Swift's stomach and thigh area. When it comes to luxury labels, Swift's go-to brands include Versace, Balmain and Oscar de la Renta. She never shies away from colors, textures and fun silhouettes. Keep scrolling to see Taylor Swift's style evolution:
