Linda Blair has been praised all over the world for her portrayal as young Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist, for which most of her performance she portrayed the Demon who possessed Regan, Pazuzu.
She supplied most, if not all of the dialogue for Pazuzu, but had to be re-dubbed by Mercedes McCambridge for an other-worldly, masculine vocalization.

Linda Denise Blair (born January 22, ) is an American actress and activist. Her portrayal of Regan MacNeil in the horror film The Exorcist () established her in popular culture and as a scream queen, earning her a Golden Globe Award, as well as an Academy Award nomination. She reprised the role in two sequels: Exorcist II: The Heretic () and The Exorcist: Believer ().
Blair has starred in several television films, including Born Innocent (), Sarah T. – Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (), and Stranger in Our House (). She has also starred in exploitation films, including Hell Night (), Chained Heat (), and Savage Streets (). Her role in the musical film Roller Boogie () brought her a reputation as a sex symbol. Linda Denise Blair was born January 22, , in St. Louis, Missouri, to James Frederick and Elinore (née Leitch) Blair. She has an older sister, Debbie, and an older brother, Jim. When Blair was two years old, her father, a Navytest pilot-turned-executive recruiter, took a job in New York City, and the family relocated to Westport, Connecticut. Born on January 22, , in St. Louis, Missouri, Linda Blair was cast as a teen in the horror film "The Exorcist," in which she played a demonically possessed girl. The actress received a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for her role, and the film became a major, much-talked-about hit. Blair went on to do TV-movie work as well as more genre films, and later became an animal activist.
Blair's next big role was in the arresting and heartbreaking NBC TV-movie "Born Innocent," in which she played a sensitive teen runaway who becomes hardened in a state girls' home. Later that same year she was featured in "Airport ," a drama/disaster pic with an ensemble cast lead by Charlton Heston and Karen Black.
For the duration of the decade, Blair starred in other TV movies like "Sweet Hostage," "Sarah T.: Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic" (both ) and Wes Craven's "Summer of Fear" as well as the Canadian film "Wild Horse Hank" and domestic big screen venture "Roller Boogie."
