Rajshree Thakur Vaidya (born 22 September 1981) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi television. Thakur is best recognised for her portrayal of Saloni Singh in Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar and Jaiwanta Bai in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. She is a recipient of an ITA Award and three Indian Telly Awards.
Early life
Thakur was born on 22 September 1981, in Mumbai. Before her acting debut, she worked at All India Radio as a Marathi news reader and did ads for several companies.
Career
Thakur made her acting debut in the 2004 Hindi film Hava Aney Dey, playing Salma, a Muslim girl opposite Aniket Vishwasrao.
Thakur's career marked a turning point with Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar. She played a dark skinned girl, Saloni Singh opposite Sharad Kelkar from 2005 to 2009 and earned her success. Her performance won her the ITA Award for Best Actress – Popular and Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role.
Following a five year hiatus, Thakur returned with Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, where she played Maharani Jaiwanta Bai Songara opposite Shakti Anand. The series won her the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
Post a second five year hiatus, Thakur played Preeti Jindal in Shaadi Mubarak opposite Manav Gohil, in 2020. She quit the series the same year due to hectic schedule. In 2022, Thakur played Pallavi Gulati Jaisingh opposite Cezanne Khan, in Appnapan – Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan.
Since December 2024, Thakur is seen playing Avani Trivedi in Bas Itna Sa Khwaab opposite Yogendra Singh.
